What families can do

Here are some steps parents and families can take to help their son/daughter to help them overcome cyberbullies:

  1. Tell your son/daughter that they seem down and ask if anything is going on
  2. Help your son/daughter understand when behavior crosses the line
  3. Encourage empathy
  4. Be realistic and understand often parents are unaware of the bullying taking place
  5. Just understand that your teen might well be the bully
  6. Encourage your son/daughter to ignore the posts or the content the bully has online and stay off the computer for a whileHere are some good resource for families:
